Alhassan Abdelsamie

Alhassan is a researcher specialized in molecular biology with a strong background in cancer biology and genome instability. He studied pharmacy and biotechnology at the German University in Cairo, Egypt. He obtained his master’s degree in biology from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and his doctorate degree from University of Heidelberg. During his Ph.D. in the group of DNA repair mechanisms and cancer at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), he characterized the potential role of several genes in DNA replication fidelity in human cells. He also developed a robust reporter system to detect and measure frameshift mutations in mammalian cells. Prior to joining Veraxa, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, USA.
